Short, Simple Melodies

These melodies contain fewer than eight measures. All are in either three-four or four-four time.

3. Leaps in Tonic Triad, Major. Shortest rhythm: Quarter note

Parallel-Period Melodies

These melodies are eight measures long, where mm. 1-2 are identical to mm. 5-6. Each melody is notated with a first/second ending structure, like this:

8. Leaps in Tonic Triad, Minor. Rhythms include all values used so far plus dotted quarter-eighth.
9. Add leaps in the IV (iv) chord.
